October 2025 Daily Art Challenge
Over the past few years, I’ve really enjoyed participating in Making Art Everyday, a daily drawing challenge created by Bardot Brush to encourage creativity and consistency. This past October marked a personal milestone – it was the first time I completed every single prompt! Some days I doubled (or even tripled) up, but I made it through all 31.
After the Rain: A Macro Photo Walk in July
One of my favorite times to bring out my macro lens is just after a summer rain, when the sun begins to break through the clouds and the air feels still and heavy with moisture. Capturing raindrops clinging to leaves and flower petals never gets old — I love the depth, texture, and sparkle the rain adds, highlighting each tiny, beautiful detail.

Kickstart Your Creativity Volume Two
Here in Upstate/Western New York, Memorial Day weekend 2025 was wet and chilly. While some braved the dreary weather on jet skis and boats, I opted for a cozier kind of adventure – spending the long weekend making art with Kickstart Your Creativity Vol. 2, a 20-unit Skillshare class taught by Lisa Bardot. I enjoyed this volume even more than the first!
Northern Lights – May, 2025
Both a notification from the Aurora app and a text from a friend alerted me to the possibility of Northern Lights sightings last night. After the S.W.A.T. series finale, I grabbed my camera and tripod and headed to the nearby bluff overlooking Lake Ontario.
Emerging from the wooded lane that leads to the bluff, I could see a faint wash of green and purple in the sky. The stars sparkled brightly, and the air was still – a perfect mid-60s temperature.

New Year’s Creativity Kickstarter
To kick off the new year, I decided to take the Skillshare class Kickstart Your Creativity, taught by Lisa Bardot, to do just that—kickstart my creativity.
What a fantastic class! With about six and a half hours of instruction, Lisa walks through all twenty of these art pieces, demonstrating many of Procreate’s built-in features. I’ve been learning Procreate for about a year, and while I’m beginning to feel comfortable with the program, this class provided an incredibly helpful refresher on tools I don’t use often.
